About NanoXplore

Our Story

NanoXplore is a fabless company based in France, founded in 2010 by three seasoned veterans of the semiconductor industry. With extensive expertise in the design, testing, and debugging of FPGAs, the founders were among the pioneers in custom FPGA-based emulation systems and IP macros for embedded FPGA cores. In 2013, Edouard LEPAPE join the company as the CEO.

Since 2014, in partnership with ESA, CNES and the European Commission, we are proud to offer innovative solutions in FPGA and SoC FPGA technologies, with the added capability to develop ASICs and dedicated solutions.

NanoXplore Design Services

In 2024, NanoXplore acquired Dolphin Design’s ASIC activities, reinforcing its strategy to offer a complete portfolio of semiconductor solutions. With over 20 years of expertise in custom ASIC development, the NX Design Services team brings deep technical know-how and a strong track record in high reliability and low power circuits.

This acquisition reflect our commitment to supporting European technological sovereingty through  advanced and secure semiconductor solutions.

NanoXplore now leads Europe in the design and development of SoC FPGA technology. We craft state-of-art radiation hardened components and offer a comprehensive portfolio of SoC and FPGA devices, for the aerospace, defence and industrial markets, as well our flagship suite of design software tools.

We’re not just building FPGA chips, were shapping the future of embedded technology!

Embedded Systems

Bridging the gap between silicon and software, the Embedded Systems team designs the low-level tools that make NanoXplore’s FPGAs truly usable and powerful.

Their core mission : developing the main SDK (Software Development Kit), firmware, and all embedded components that enable seamless configuration, control, and integration of our devices. From bootloaders and drivers to board support packages and diagnostic tools, they ensure our chips speak the right language whether on a satellite, in a defense system, or in a test environment. Their work is foundational : without it, nothing runs.

What sets them apart is their ability to think system-wide. They work closely with hardware teams and application engineers, adapt to evolving specs, and support real-world use cases with reliability and reactivity.

They’re not just writing code : they’re building the ecosystem around our FPGAs.

Driven by curiosity and precision, it’s a team where autonomy meets collaboration, and where each line of code contributes to something bigger : making advanced microelectronics accessible and operational for the most demanding applications.
