Research & Development

At the heart of NanoXplore’s innovation, the R&D team designs complex and robust components tailored to the demanding requirements of Space,  Aerospace, Defense, and Industrial markets. Their mission :  deliver reliable, qualified, and sovereign semiconductor products that customers can trust for critical applications.

R&D brings together a broad range of expertise : analog and digital design, embedded systems, application software, physical implementation, testing, packaging, and product design. This diversity enables the team to cover the entire product development cycle, from initial architecture to space qualification.

In a context of rapid growth and accelerated transformation, the team face ambitious challenges such as improving project coordination and strengthening cross-domain collaboration. With rigor, commitment, and a collaborative spirit, the R&D team is shaping the technologies of tomorrow.

Embedded Systems

Bridging the gap between silicon and software, the Embedded Systems team designs the low-level tools that make NanoXplore’s FPGAs truly usable and powerful.

Their core mission : developing the main SDK (Software Development Kit), firmware, and all embedded components that enable seamless configuration, control, and integration of our devices. From bootloaders and drivers to board support packages and diagnostic tools, they ensure our chips speak the right language whether on a satellite, in a defense system, or in a test environment. Their work is foundational : without it, nothing runs.

What sets them apart is their ability to think system-wide. They work closely with hardware teams and application engineers, adapt to evolving specs, and support real-world use cases with reliability and reactivity.

They’re not just writing code : they’re building the ecosystem around our FPGAs.

Driven by curiosity and precision, it’s a team where autonomy meets collaboration, and where each line of code contributes to something bigger : making advanced microelectronics accessible and operational for the most demanding applications.

Digital Design & Verification / Tooling

The Digital Design & Verification team is responsible for specifying, designing, and validating the complex digital blocks that powers our circuits. The team plays a key role in strategic projects particularly in the defense sector where reliability and security are paramount.

Combining deep technical expertise with a strong team spirit, the group brings together key

skills in RTL design, ARM processor integration, AXI interconnects, secure data handling, and end-to-end trust chain management (hardware and software). Positioned at the core of the product development cycle, the team works closely with system architects, software engineers, analog designers, and back-end specialists.

In a demanding environment, team members tackle challenges with focus, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset. Their mission : ensure the quality, robustness, and security of our products while fostering the cooperation needed to deliver some of our most complex technologies.

Team Physical Implementation / DFT

Often called the “backend team”, this group plays a crucial role in bringing RTL code to life, turning abstract logic into real manufacturable circuits. They handle layout, timing closure, and physical verification to make sure each frame is ready before fabrication.

Multicultural and dynamic, the team works in English and includes members from Egypt, India, and Morocco, plus an external contributor. They collaborate closely with RTL, analog, and software teams, ensuring consistent and reliable design flows

across NanoXplore projects.

What defines them? Technical excellence, rigorous processes, and a strong culture of peer
feedback. The team continuously improves through checklists, code reviews, and collaborative feedback. They also keep the mood light with monthly team lunches and cultural jokes !

They may be few in number, but their impact is felt in every chip NanoXplore produces.

Hardware

At the heart of NanoXplore’s product realization, the Hardware team brings together three complementary pillars. AMS/Custom Design focuses on transistor-level analog design, creating the fundamental building blocks of our FPGA architectures and embedded analog IPs. The Test & Validation team handles critical phases such as bring-up, characterization, qualification, and functional testing of the chips. And the PCB & Packaging team develops the electronic boards and packaging solutions that enable reliable integration and product delivery.

These highly technical roles, sometimes rare on the market, require precision, autonomy, and a genuine interest in the craft. In a demanding and fast-evolving environment, the teams move forward with agility, drawing strength from their cohesion, adaptability, and high technical standards.

The collective is guided by a trust-based, hands-on management style that values both the quality of the work and the simplicity of human interactions.

Team Software

At the intersection of hardware and algorithms, the Software team designs, develops, and maintains the tools used to program NanoXplore’s FPGAs, such as Impulse, our current solution.

With around thirty team members spread across several sites (Jacou, Sèvres, Grenoble, and Le Mans), the team brings together diverse skill sets : C++/Python development, algorithm design, hardware/software interfacing, software quality assurance (QA), and internal project coordination. It operates in an agile, empowering environment structured around cross-functional working groups.

Rooted in a culture of trust and open communication, the team evolves collectively. Each member has the opportunity to take initiative, try out new roles, and contribute to continuous improvement. This dynamic enables the team to tackle complex challenges with rigor, while maintaining a collaborative and engaged atmosphere.

Field Application Engineers (FAE)

The FAE team is the technical bridge between us and our customers.

Their mission goes far beyond support : they guide and empower clients to unlock the full potential of our FPGA and ASIC solutions. Whether through hands-on training, technical workshop, or on-site assistance, they make sure every project runs smoothly and successfully.

Working closely with the sales team, they bring complex technologies to life with clarity and pedagogy. They also take part in key events and conferences, where they present our products, share their expertise, and connect across the space and defense ecosystem.

Every day, they combine deep technical expertise, creative problem-solving, and close collaboration across borders, turning complexity into customers success.
